Totally agree - "flat" is a good word for it. I went from subscription to the odd magazine when traveling, but will probably try to find a substitute - Fast Company sounds a good place to start...

I totally agree. I am an engineer and have always been fascinated with technology and how it affects our lives. I always enjoyed the articles that helped me understand where things were headed, especially the last page. I vacillate between being an early adopter and a wait-and-see kind of person and always like to do some research before jumping into a new technology so Wired was always on my must-read list.

Lately, however, I have noticed like you that the articles don't hold my interest as much. I hadn't put it into words but "flat" does pretty much say it all. After paging through the magazine for the last year with only a few articles worth serious reading, I finally decided to let my subscription lapse. I opted for not paying money just to recycle the paper. I find myself looking forward to each issue of Fast Company much more these days.
